Water is the vessel of life for these giant creatures, coastal brown bears, Ursus arctos, that inhabit Katmai National Park. The water that flows in the rivers in Katmai are full of a vital resource, salmon. The annual runs have long left the rivers come September and the bears are left with diving for the spawned out salmon.
